I started shaping these traditional fish-esque boards with the understanding that it’s universally agreed fish boards are extremely fast and offer great performance characteristics, especially in smaller surf. As a result, they’ve become some of the most versatile and frequently ridden boards in my quiver.

In the smaller sizes, these boards have been tuned with more performance-oriented rocker and bottom contours, as they are often used in small beach break surf and up to mid-sized point break surf. The longer variations, however, are slightly detuned in contour and rocker to balance out some of the potent characteristics of these designs. This makes them better suited for longer, down-the-line point break waves where the surf is more powerful.

These boards can also be offered in a side-cut variation, which provides a snappier feel and a narrower area between the feet for easier rail-to-rail transitions.
